Can i take my treatment in the morning?

Is it ok for me to take my treatment in the morning, instead of in the evening?

Hi,

This depends on what medication you are on. If you are taking efavirenz, or a pill containing this, it is not usually recommended. This is because of the kind of side effects efavirenz causes. Taking it at night means you are sleeping and avoiding some of the side effects.

If  you are on a combination that oddest contain efavirenz it should be ok to take int the morning. The important thing is that you continue to take your medication at the same time every day. You should not switch back and forth between the new time and the old time.  Good adherence is important to make sure your meds work.

    Hi Sispho, this depends on which ARVs you take. Efavirenz needs to be taken before bed but all other meds are okay to take at a time that is best for you.

    Hi Joyce, yes you can switch to taking Reydin at 7am. As Reydin contains dolutegravir, it is recommended to take Reydin in the morning.

    It is okay to have your regular dose of Eflaten at 7pm and the next morning switch to Reydin at 7am. You can then continue with treatment at this time going forwards. There will be no problem having these 2 doses only 12 hours apart instead of the regular 24 hours.

    Hi Kabamba, to clarify you have an additional 20 tablets? You have already been taking medication daily for the last 90 days?

    Are you taking the treatment for HIV? Are you able to go back to the pharmacy where you got these tablets to talk to them about this?
