good day, i am HIV negative my hubby positive. His viral load is undetectable for a year now. I also just started with truvada for PREP. We started unprotected sex on the 5th day of the medication as we are trying for a baby naturally. My question is what are the chances of me being infected ? My mouth has been bitter something like heartburn or so.is that normal?what must i do?
Answer
Thanks for getting in touch.
Because your husband is undetectable the risk of you getting infected is close to zero. Please see the PARTNER study:

Its not common practice to be on PrEP when a partner is undetectable. This includes even when trying to conceive. However, this is a personal choice. The side effects that you are experiencing should go within a few weeks. Once you have become pregnant, there will be no need for you to take PrEP.
