Q and A

Question

I’m positive, which countries can I work in?

I’m looking for a teaching job abroad but I am hiv positive. Which countries can I get a work visa for without medical examinations?

Answer

Thanks for getting in touch.

Please see the following link:  http://www.hivtravel.org/  Here you’ll find the countries that don’t have an issue with positive people, as well as the ones that do. Your status won’t be an issue in the EU or the States.

Hello and thanks for the question.

I am afraid we don’t have the expertise to advise about relocating to other countries.

You might be able to find some information here:

Hi Chico, this service is about HIV and treatment. Your questions will depend on which country you live in and the policies or the companues where you want to work. In the UK, being HIV positive would not stop you getting this sort of work.

Hi, I am a nurse but unfortunately I am hiv + but undetected. Can I still work as a nurse or in the teaching career abroad?

Hi Denz – thanks for posting about your experience. This sounds good as we need more people living with HIV who are nurses and who share this experience :)

It is okay to be a nurse in the UK, bt beinf on treatment with an undetectable viural load.

I am sorry that I can’t talk about other countries though.
