i-Base still gets questions from people in South Africa about a multivitamin called Immunadue.
The answers include that this product:
- Is NOT a treatment for HIV.
- Will NOT strengthen your immune system by increasing your CD4 count.
- Will NOT reduce your viral load.
As with other multivitamins there are unlikely to have side effects – but also do not have proven health benefits if you already eat a health balanced diet.
Hi Wilma, Immunadue is unlikely the cause of your diarrhoea and vomiting. Do you have any other symptoms e.g., fever, sweats, abdominal pain etc…
As Immunadue is a supplement, it only contains minerals and vitamins that the body will source from a balanced diet. Increasing the intake of these vitamins and supplements will not cause any additional side effects. The body will naturally eliminate these via the kidneys.
Hi I’ve started taking Immunadue.i had my first tablet and that night I started vomiting and diarrhea. Can it be the Immunadue?
Hi Renette, yes it is possible that taking too many Immunadue will lead to diarrhoea. Have you noticed any other symptoms such as fever, chills and vomiting?
If the diarrhoea remains it is best to speak to a pharmacist and they will be able to manage this.

I took one Imminadue capsule per day for three consecutive days, then stopped taking it due to diarrhea. Diarrhea has improved but haven’t stop totally, been two weeks now. What medication can I use to counter this diarrhea. I know from previous experience that Aloe gave me diarrhea but that only last two to three day max after I stopped using it.
Hi Thabang, immunadue is a supplement not a treatment. You do not need to take it at all. You only take it if you want, there is no evidence to suggest that it will help with treating HIV.
