This is easy to answer but it would help to know a little about the reason?

Is this because you might have become HIV positive six years ago and have just been diagnosed? ie looking back in time?

Or is this because you have just been diagnosed and you want to wait for years before starting treatment? ie looking forward in time.

If looking back, then some people go for many years without realising they are HIV positive. Some people might do this for even longer than six years.

If looking forward though, this is not a good idea. HIV treatment (called ART) is now recommended for everyone who is HIV positive. This is because it is the best way to protect your immune system for the future.
