My doctor recently changed the ARV I was suing to Reydin. Is it safe to use Reydin while pregnant?
Answer
Hi Mavis, how are you doing? Congratulations on the pregnancy.
Reydin is a first line ARV for pregnant woman. It is recommended by UK and WHO guidelines. It is safe to use in pregnancy.
Reydin is a combination of 3 medications. It does contain Dolutegravir which is associated with a small increased risk of neural tube defects. A small risk.
In the UK it is recommended that women take a folic acid supplement for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy to reduce this risk. Speaking to the doctor who prescribed the medication cam help explain why your ARV was changed.
If you want to know anything else please ask,
Josh.
Hi can i use home.hiv rapid Test after 3 months? is it accurate?
Thanks Josh for your respond keep it up with your good work. God bless you
Hi David, this is confirmatory. You do not have HIV.
Done with 7weeks laboratory tests for HIV which is negative
Hi David, what test are you using? Often rapid at home tests require 3 months after completing PEP to be accurate. If you have been using a 4th generation antigen/antibody test this would be conclusive 6 weeks after PEP.
Hi trust u are well I have made my 28 days testing after PEP which was negative and 8 weeks which is still Na negative so would it be positive after 3 months? please advise
Hi David, Reydin is a common combination used for PEP. It is good. You can test 6 weeks after the course of PEP ends.
