Hi, I am taking Acriptega pills in the morning. Can I change this and take them at night?

Yes you can take Acriptega at night. Sometimes people experience insomnia when taking Acriptega at night which is why it is started in the morning. But if taking your medication in the morning is not suitable, it is safe to do so at night.
To switch you will need to take your morning dose, followed by an evening dose. Continue then taking your medication in the evening. On this first day you may experience more pronounced side effects for the time there is a high level of drug in your body. This should settle soon after.

Hi Buyile, Acriptega is a generic version of TLD. This is a treatment that can be used as PEP to prevent HIV. If this was a high risk exposure and your doctor has recommended PEP (Acriptega) it is safe to take.

This is because it contains dolutegravir. This is a medication that can cause problems sleeping. Taking Acriptega earlier in the day will help prevent this side effect.
If you still want to take it in the evening, it would be best to take it as early as you can to avoid problems with your sleeping.

Hi Rahul, yes you can take Acriptega in the afternoon. As mentioned in the main post, when taking Acriptega later in the day there is risk of problems with sleep.
What time do you currently take your treatment? Problems with sleep does not happen for everybody. The later in the day you do take your treatment, the lower the risk of this side effect.
