Q and A

Question

Should I be concerned about sexual fluids if I am undetectable?

I am a female. I would like to know if I should be worried about sexual fluids if I’m undetectable? For example, reaching vaginal orgasm while having unprotected sex with my partner. Can I infect him? also should I worry about the type of sex, smooth or rough, or that doesn’t apply when I’m undetectable?

Answer

Hi, how are you doing?

No you do not need to worry. As you are undetectable, you cannot pass on HIV via sex. This means that you do not need to worry about contact with sexual fluids.

This also applies for the type of sex you are having. U=U will still apply regardless of the type of sex e.g., rough vs hard, vaginal, oral or anal. This is irrespective if you are the receptive or insertive partner.

Josh.
