I am waiting for my babies test results…
3 August 2022. Related: All topics, Children, HIV testing, HIV transmission.
I’m positive and I gave birth. I got discharged when I went to the clinic for result of the baby. They said it hadn’t come yet, I’ll get it after 6 weeks.
So my question is baby still okay?

Do you know the type of test they used?
And how was your pregnancy? Were you on ART? what was your viral load? and if so, how long have you been on ART?
Each of these changes the risk to baby. Is baby now on their own medication? Usually this is Nevirapine.
Many HIV positive women give birth to healthy, HIV negative babies. Even finding out their status late/not being on treatment, it is still rare for baby to be born with HIV.
