My partner just rexted HIV during pregnancy?

Me and my partner we have dating for 2½ years, last month she went clinic for pregnancy test, and she found out that she is HIV positive, a week later I went to do HIV test. And it came negative. Is that possible?

And My blood type is Group O

Thanks for your questions and for sharing your experience.

How are they feeling and do they have good access to care?

It is good that your partner tested so that she can use HIV treatment – called ART – to protect both her health and the baby.

It is also really good and lucky that you tested negative – and this is also very common.

This might be a difficult time bu terms of learning new information, but ART is really effective.

Your partner and the baby will both be okay and your life together building a family can still do everything that you planned before.
