What is a positive HIV screening baby test?

Hello, i-base , what’s the meaning of a positive HIV screening test to the baby? Does it mean that the baby is HIV positive, and if the baby starts the treatment immediately after birth does the treatment helps. Thanks

As this is a screening test it is not 100% accurate. This means baby will need a further test to confirm if they have HIV or not.
Have you been given any information about any further tests?
If baby does test positive, it is recommended to begin treatment immediately. Starting treatment as early as possible can help prevent HIV having any significant effects on baby’s health.
