Question

Do foods high in calcium affect HIV meds including PEP?

I’ve been taking pep for 10 days now, started 24 hours post exposure to a HIV positive partner. The bottle said to avoid dairy products and supplements, and I’ve also done a fair bit of research to make sure I’ve been taking it properly. I’ve been eating tofu as my meal I take the medication with basically every day.

Now I’ve found out that tofu is super high in calcium, have I completely messed up my treatment? I was not warned about this at all, just to avoid dairy so i thought i was doing the right thing by eating vegan. Is my treatment compromised?
