Hello there,
My boyfriend tested HIV positive in December last year we have been together since March 2010 and have been having unprotected sex up until he was diagnosed. I was tested twice between December and January and have been negative. How come I haven’t contracted the virus? Also his viral load is 300,000. Is this something that dosnt happen often in a gay relationship?

Thank you for your question.
I am sorry to hear of your boyfriend’s recent diagnosis. How are you both coping with this?
It is possible that you have remained HIV negative even if he is positive. For a full explanation why you should follow this link.
