Q and A

Question

What should I do about my rash with Atripla?

I started taking Atripla about 2 weeks ago. Since then I’ve had a rash. Every morning when I wake up it’s just getting worse.

Can I use any creams to help get rid of the rash or is it going to be there no matter what?

Answer

Hello,

Have you spoken to your doctor yet? Any symptom or side effect should be discussed with a doctor, especially a rash.

If you get a rash in the first few weeks of taking Atripla may be a serious reaction that you can’t manage yourself with crams. Please call you clinic so you can describe the symptoms in detail. This will include what the rash looks like, what percentage or your body is affected and where and whether it breaks the skin.

The clinic will then decide whether you need to have this physically seen.
