Can I skip doses to avoid Eviplera rash?

I am on Eviplera (rilpivirine/tenofovir/FTC) and keep getting a rash on my shoulders and lower abdomen…very irritating…I missed 2 doses and it is better…should i just miss the dose when the rash is more…this only happens occasionally and I can live with it.
I am happy on this drug as i have no other effects…I am undetectable at the moment. Wonder if this is a common?

Skipping doses of your medication is not a good idea. This can cause drug resistance and your treatment might then stop working. Everytime you skip a dose of Eviplera you increase the risk of developing resistance.
Discuss this rash with your doctor. Rash is a common side effect of the rilpivirine in Eviplera. Depending on the severity this might be a reason to change to a different treatment. But if this is something that only happens occasionally it may be enough to get some treatment to ease the symptoms of this. You can read about rash and skin problems in our side effects guide.
