hi I recently started arvs atrioza I want to know if I can still buy over the counter tablets for treating headaches or flu like I used to before or I should consult the doctor first if I do take over the counter tablets like aspirin will they clash with my arvs?
Answer
Thanks for getting in touch.
Advice from the Liverpool HIV interaction database- indicates that there is no drug interaction  expected when taking atrioza and aspirin. Please see:

Therefore, if you wish to take asprin when you have a headache, then you can.
If you wish to take other medications, then either ask your doctor, or get in touch with us.
Hi Bart,
There’s a slight possibility that there could be an interaction between the codeine and the efavirenz that are in the Atripla. However, this reaction is weak. The issue is, the joint pain. As you’ve got joint pain and you’re taking ARVs this needs to be investigated as the following explains- https://i-base.info/qa/12019
As I have read Atripla can cause joint pains after a while. I persist in getting joint pains especially in the evenings. I take Mybulen tablets. One in the evening with the atripla to ease the joint pains. Is this okay to take. Mybulen is the only tablet that helps. I see ir believe it contains paracitomol and ibrufen.
Hi Miyanda,
What ARVs are you taking? What antibiotics do you want to take?
