Question
Do I have to take Luvigen in the morning?
16 July 2022. Related: Adherence, All topics, Side effects.
I want to know is it only mornings that you can take Luvigen?
Answer
Hi, how are you doing?
Luvigen is a generic combination of TLD. This means that it contains dolutegravir. It is recommended to take Luvigen in the morning because dolutegravir can stop you sleeping.
Taking it in the morning means this side effect wears off by the time you go to bed.
You can move the time you take Luvigen, but it is possible it will affect how you sleep.
Josh.

Hello S and thanks for getting in touch.
Luvigen can be taken with empty stomach or not and yes if taken in the morning it might affect sleep less so what you are doing is the recommended way to take it.
What has your doctor said about the joint pain?
Does it affect all the joints and does it get better throughout the day?
It might be helpful to keep a diary of your pain including the severity (usually out of 10 – where 10 is excruciating pain that cannot be tolerated without pain relief), the frequency (how often it happens) and what helps with it.
The medication you are on right now is not commonly linked to joint pain, however, your doctors should investigate this more as there might be some underlying condition that has not been identified yet.
It might also be helpful to focus on eating anti-inflammatory food more, try with a balanced diet to minimise the inflammation in your body.

Finally, exercise is always helpful, ensuring you have strong muscles that can help when the joints have grown weaker

Hello Maria and thanks for getting in touch.
You can take TLD with metformin, however there is a dose restriction.
Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist as they might need to adjust your dose and treatment schedule.
