Hi. Can I marry if I am HIV positive? I am only 28 male, and just diagnosed. How long I can live if I start HAART in future? Do you also think there will be more treatement options in future? Thank you
Answer
Yes, most countries have no legal obstacles against marriage, though many countries do have laws that saw you need to tell your partner about your HIV status. There are some countries where discrimination limits human rights, so it also depends where you live.
Many HIV positive men get married – to partners who are either HIV positive or HIV negative. If their partner is HIV-negative it is still possible to have children

Hi I am Mary. I am hiv positive. I would like to be happy again after so many problems.
Hi Seera, I am sorry but this service is mainly about science and treatment. I know the situation is difficult but I am not trained to give advice for what is best for you. You sounds like an amazing person, especially to have stood up to HIV and taken meds for so long.
This means that you deserve someone who will be smart enough to learn about U=U and treatment – or he might even also be living with HIV.
Maybe bring up HIV in general conversation where you can can how amazing it is that treatment is now so effective etc.
Whatever happens I wish you luck with your future plans.

Am hiv positive and aged 51, I started taking ART in 2006 .my viral load is undetectable. I fell in love with a man who wants we test but am so scared and I love this man what do I do? He also loves me but we in distance love. Soon he is coming around. Am so scared and confused on what to do. please advise me.
Hello Edonisson and thank you for contacting us.
Living with HIV should not stop you from marrying.
HIV is a condition you can control easily and if you are on effective treatment (which means your viral load is undetectable) you cannot pass it on to your partners or your children.
Do you mind explaining more about your situation?
