Can I take Immunadue during pregnancy?

l am 29 and HIV positive, l am pregnant. Is it safe to take Immunadue during pregnancy? l am 6 months in pregnancy. What advice can you give?

Immunadue is a product from South Africa and I have never heard of anybody to have used it in the UK. So no proper experience with it and as a result I cannot advise you on its use/non-use. As a multivitamin it is likely to be similar to any other multivitamin.
Immunadue will NOT increase your CD4 count or reduce your viral load.
I checked for for published studies in HIV positive people, but failed to find any research to support a benefit.
The general rule, however, when it comes to pregnancy, is to only use medications and products after discussion with your doctor.
Hi Kgalaelo, unfortunately multivitamins and supplements have not been proven to help increase weight. Has this been on an ongoing problem? have you tried anything else to gain weight other than vitamins/supplements?
H,I would like to ask can iminadue helps me to gain weight? I am 37 and weigh 51kg I like to be a bit more but nothing.i tried lots of multivitamins but no change but it’s a generic thing at home.

Congratulations on your pregnancy and great that you are already on ART. This should bring your viral load down to undetecable by the time the baby is due. This is the best way to have a healthy baby that will not have HIV.
To comment in more detail, I need to know the the viral load result to know what you mean by ‘high’. It would also be good to know which meds you are taking.
Please also ask your doctor these questions.
If your viral load is not geting very low, your meds might need to change.

Immunadue is a brand of multivitamin. It will not work against your HIV or HPV, or necessarily improve your symptoms. If you are taking any vitamin or herb supplements you should tell your doctor or clinic about them. It’s important to tell them because some supplements or herbs can interact with HIV medication.
