EC approves abacavir for use by HIV-infected children

The European Commission has approved a strawberry-banana flavoured solution of abacavir (Ziagen) to treat HIV-1-infected children between the ages of 3 months and 18 years, GlaxoSmithKline have announced.
Glaxo already markets abacavir, a nucleoside analogue, for the treatment of HIV-infected adults.
