Can I have sex while on PEP?

I have just started PEP after a drunk one night stand with an HIV positive person. While I’m on PEP can I transmit the virus to my regular partner of 12 months?

You can, but most people often have a break from sex while on PEP. Sex without a condom while you are unaware of your status can potentially put your partner at risk of HIV.
If your partner of 12 months is okay to use a condom there would not be a risk of transmitting HIV. Although some other STDs would not be prevented.

Hi Ney, no you do not need to start PEP from day 1 again.
While you are taking PEP you are protected from any further exposures. PEP will work like PrEP for the duration of the course. You can both complete your courses of PEP when originally planned.

Hello. I was on pep on the 10th of nov and after 5 days my husband also started taking pep bcoz our condom bursted. , after 18 days of me being on pep our condom bursted again with my husband when he is also on pep. Do you think we are still exposed and that we should start again from day 1 of taking pep ???

While on PEP it is recommended to not have sex, or if you do using a condom is suggested. This will remove any risk of transmission even though the risk is minimal.

I had this partner who I had unprotected vaginal sex with for the first time while she was on her period I asked her what her status was afterwards and she said she’s negative and clean, I got tested 1 month later and my test result was negative. I didn’t have intercourse with anyone else after that.
I had sex with her again 6 months later and it was also unprotected vaginal sex, I asked her what her status was and she said she was negative, but I didn’t believe her cause she had flu like symptoms (she said its a chest infection) and she said she had been tested 3 months before and she was negative but not everyone can say the TRUTH. we hadn’t seen each other for months and I didn’t know who she had been with so I began taking PEP 68 hours later. Got tested and I was HIV negative I was prescribed to M-TLD and H-D17 just incase one of the other was in scarcity (dunno why but was told both of them have the same effect).
3 days later I began dating someone new (we had been in the friendzone) and we have been having unprotected vaginal sex with her as I am on PEP while she is negative. The 1st time we had sex she was on her period and I was on my 6th day of PEP, the 2nd time was on my 11th day of PEP and the 3rd and final time was on my 13th day of PEP.
I have been taking PEP as when I started at 3:40PM and the only time I was late was just by 2 hours and I took it then there at 5:20PM and continued with it starting that time now. I fear that If I do have the virus I might infect her and she doesn’t deserve that, I tend to overthink alot whether the PEP is working or not kindly advice me?.
Hi Koketso, you are not protected from HIV when you are not taking PEP. If you had an exposure once your course was completed you would need to start another course of PEP.
I was on pep and I finished drinking it so I had a contact with a person who is HIV POSITIVE for 3weeks , is there any chances I can do to prevent me from getting infected?
Hi Rolland, as your friend is undetectable there is no risk of transmission. These lady’s symptoms are not caused by HIV.
My friend who is HIV+ on Arv’s and reached U=U. Had unprotected sex with a lady and the next day the lady was sick with flu-like symptoms of HIV. My friend worried if he was safe. Please what’s your advice?
