Will loperamide (Imodium) be okay with PrEP?

Hello! Please can I ask about loperamide (Imodium).

People take Imodium before having sex and the main benefit is that Imodium postpones contractions of certain parts of the guts and delays digestion.

My concern is about how Imodium could adversely affect absorption of PrEP (Truvada. te3nofovir.emtricitabine).

Is it possible to take Imodium with PrEP?

Yes, please do not worry.

There is no drug interaction between loperamide and PrEP.

The active ingredients in PrEP are absorbed earlier and more quickly.

The effect of loperamide to slow everything down won’t affect PrEP.
