Question
Can i take my treatment in the morning?

Is it ok for me to take my treatment in the morning, instead of in the evening?
Answer
Hi,
This depends on what medication you are on. If you are taking efavirenz, or a pill containing this, it is not usually recommended. This is because of the kind of side effects efavirenz causes. Taking it at night means you are sleeping and avoiding some of the side effects.
If you are on a combination that oddest contain efavirenz it should be ok to take int the morning. The important thing is that you continue to take your medication at the same time every day. You should not switch back and forth between the new time and the old time. Good adherence is important to make sure your meds work.
You can find more information about adherence in our online treatment guide.
And more information about efavirenz in our medication guide.
Hi Ann, great to hear that you doing so well on ART. These recent symptoms are unlikely to be related to HIV meds. Please talk with your doctor though who can try to help.

Hello Luvo and thanks for the question.
Tribuss is a generic version of Atripla and it is quite common in Africa.
People who have used it before are reporting it’s best to have it at night, before going to sleep.
Also, it’s important you don’t take it with a full stomach and to avoid any fatty food with it.

Hi Norma, yes. It is good to just continue from now as normal again. It sometimes miss a day, it is not ideal, but it will also be okay.
I forgot to take ARVs in the morning can I take them tomorrow morning during my usual time?
Hi Zonge, please talk to your doctor about your HIV meds. Reydin is a generic HIV combination of TLD> It includes Tenofovir DF (TD), Lamivudine (3TC) and Dolutegravir coformulated into a single pill (TLD).
Although dolutegravir can sometimes be taken twice a day, the other drugs cannot – please do not take Rydin twice a day as this could increase the risk of serious side effects.
If you have been taking your meds carefully, then it sounds like these meds have stopped working and your doctor needs to look at other combinations.
The CD4 count of 8 is very serious and your doctor also nees to prescribe you antibiotics to protect your health from other infections.
