Can I take Tribuss with food?

Hi! I am 35 years and started taking my tribuss pill in February 2012. My problem is that I cant take the pill on an empty stomach. Can this make the pill to disfunction?

Tribuss is a generic combination treatment which contains three HIV drugs. These are efavirenz, FTC and tenofovir. In the UK, this combination in a single pill is called Atripla.
Tribuss is usually recommended to be taken on an empty stomach is to reduce side effects. This is up to 60% more efavirenz is absorbed if it is taken with a high fat meal.
This would mean there is more efavirenz than you need and you may be more likely to get side effects. Side effects from efavirenz include dizziness, mood changes and sleep disturbance. Please follow this link for more information about efavirenz side effects.
However, the increased levels of efavirenz are connected to a high fat meal.
If you prefer to take Tribuss with some food this is fine, just not with fatty foods.

You say that you feel like you have lost weight, is your doctor monitoring your weight? If you have lost a lot of weight (10% of your original weight) without trying to it is important to find out what is causing this. It’s therefore important to discuss your concerns with your doctor who may also be able to suggest a way to regain this weight.
Ive been on tribuss for almost a year now and i feel like ive lost weight. what supplements can i take in conjuction with tribuss that will help to increase my appetite?

If you are finding your side effects difficult to deal with it’s important to talk to your doctor about this. You may be able to get treatment to help reduce these, or it may be better to try a different treatment to see if these improve.
Making sure you take Tribuss at night, just before you go to bed, can make side effects easier. Is this how you take it now?
Hi, am Lele,Iv been on Tribuss for almost 2years but am still suffering from harsh side ifects. My stomach burns like I have alcer and at times i feel dizzy.

These side effects are all normal with Tribuss- they are related to one of the drugs in Tribuss called efavirenz. Usually they will improve after the first few weeks of treatment. But if these are very severe and you don’t feel able to cope it is important to talk to your doctor about this. Some people get much more difficult side effects than others and if this is not getting better you may need to change to a different medication.

I started taking tribuss on 2013-06-13 but I felt like I’m loosing my mind is that normal? This is still happening. How long does it stop coz I see funny things like I’m dieng. I feel like living it now and give up for my life. It really scaring me now. Please help me. i have nightmare/ bad dreams, i feel so tired and i sleep day and night but at night i have nightmare. please help me and how long will this stop i cant take it anymore.

Sores in the groin area are not a usual side effect of Tribuss. It’s important to speak to your doctor about these sores as they could be a sign of another infection.
I’ve started taking tribuss 5 days ago,an I’m taking it at night 21H00 after the meal.now I’m experiecing sores onthe groin,is it one of the side-effects?
Hi. You can take Tribuss a few hours earlier perhaps and see whether this helps. It is okay to only wait two hours after a meal rather than four hours. Also, please talk to your doctor if these side effects are still too difficult in case there is an alternative treatment you could use.
hi can i take tribuss on a empty stomach and eat after a pill because i normally take a pill at 12h00 midnigth some times i forget to take a pill because of the alarm i dont hear it and i am loosing weigth .i eat at 08h00 at nigth and wait for 4 hours before taking a pill every morning i wake up dizzy what can i do
