Is there a difference between Atripla, Odimune, Rizene and Tribuss etc

Hi
I started with Atripla, then received Odimune and now I have been given Tribuss from my provider.
I have never had side effects. How safe is it for me to take Tribuss?
I’m afraid it might change how I look. Is it the same as the two I have already been taking?
Answer
Hi
Tribuss and Odimune are generic versions of the fixed dose combination pill Atripla. These drugs have different names because they are made by different manufacturers.
Each version contains the same doses of three drugs. These are tenofovir, FTC and efavirenz.
There are no safety concerns from switching from one version to another.
Although some HIV meds have been linked to body shape changes, this is not commonly reported for any of these drugs. One exception, generally rare, is that efavirenz has been linked to weight gain in breast tissue – also called gynaecomastia (GYE-na-co-MAS-tee-ah).

Hi Sthembile
Changing from evening to morning doses should not have may the viral load increase. In the UK these meds are not recommended if you do shift work because or the difficulty adjusting doses.
How high is your viral load now?
It would be good to repeat the test if you can do this.
What has your doctor said? It might be easier to use a different combination if the shift work is difficult, even if your viral load goes back down again.
I have been on Tribuss and changed to Odimune but now I’m working straight night shift and I’ve changed the time I take my medication to mornings because I sleep during the day and my last check up my viral load had escalated, could it be because I take my meds in the morning?
These are all the same drugs – only the labels are different.
Hi, between atripla, atroiza and tribuss which one changes the shape of a person?? Like small legs and bigger upper body??
Hi Lydia
All these meds are the same drugs – just made by different manufacturerer.
Generic versions of Atripla include Atenef, Atroiza, Citenvir, Odimune, Tribuss, Trivenz, Truno, Trustiva and Viraday. These meds have contain the same active ingredients as Atripla and are just as safe and effective. Tenarenz and Eflaten are generic versions that are similar but contain 3TC instead of FTC.

This means there should not be any difference in how effective they are or in how you tolerate treatment.
I started treatment last yr September they gave me atroiza, then they changed to odimune. At the clinic they just change they don’t explain why do they change. Yesterday I went to the clinic again they changed to Atenef and i will start it maybe next week after finishing Odimune.I want to know if there are the same bcs Odimune was very good I didn’t have side effect. Pls help me.
Hi,
You should not get any new side effects. This is because Tribuss and Atroiza are both generic versions (copies) of a pill called Atripla. This means they contain the same ingredients and work in the same way. They only have different names because they are made by different companies.
I started to use Tribuss few weeks ago i never had any side effects beside dizziness for few minites, now they gave me Atroiza. Am i going to have side effects?
