i-Base

Rebecca McDowall

Rebecca McDowall was an advocate at i-Base from 2011 to 2014.

Rebecca McDowall joined i-Base in December 2011. She has a degree in African studies and development studies from London’s School of Oriental and African studies and has a keen interest in international HIV work.

Rebecca has been volunteering with HIV programmes since 2006, working with organisations in India, Africa and the UK. Before working at i-Base she worked with the UK consortium on AIDS and international development and campaigned with the Student Stop AIDS campaign for access to universal to HIV treatment.

As a treatment information officer, Rebecca responded to treatment questions posed online and via email, and also answered the treatment information phoneline. Rebecca was also our publication distribution manager and was responsible for ensuring i-Base resources found their way promptly to the clinics and individuals who ordered them.
